PBT workers won their first collective agreement after joining FIRST Union in October.
The new agreement, a multi-employer agreement between the Transport division and the Couriers division, included three pay increases in the first 6 months of the agreement, the introduction of a night and evening shift payment, the introduction of time and half for overtime, the introduction of redundancy compensation, labour-hire conversion following 6 months, additional bereavement leave, lieu days for public holidays that don’t fall on an otherwise working day and even a paid day off for member’s birthdays.
The settlement was reached under notice of strike action and was ratified unanimously by the members.
